{personal} just a beautiful day

sprouting leaves, originally uploaded by briemarie.

When I woke up this morning, I knew it was going to be a beautiful day. The sun is shining, it's warm, although not overly warm and riding in the Jeep with the top off was a bit chilly, but who cares, it's gorgeous out!

We've been making lots of portrait sessions coming up and a super sweet wedding next weekend, time flies! Plus, yesterday I came home to find a new display print had arrived, now we just need to find a frame for it, isn't that always the hard part?

Well, the baby is doing fine, we had an appointment last week, and I feel it moving all the time. Yes, I call it "it", although usually "baby", especially when I'm talking to the little darling. I'm not crazy, I talk to my baby bump, and then it kicks me, perhaps that's how motherhood will begin, I'll talk and baby will kick. We have about three months before baby is due and have been getting tons of stuff ready, cleaning out our old office to make way for a nursery, hitting up yard sales for goodies, we have a ton of onesies for the little thing, maybe that's all it will wear? We still need to find some of the big furniture, like a crib, although Rob's parents have one, I want to find one in dark colors, it will go awesome with the green I am planning on painting the nursery. I'm doing a fairy tale theme, so any ideas - let me know! We love comments, it makes us feel loved!

Spread the love and hug a friend! I'm in that kind of mood right now, it's better than the "I need pie right now! Chocolate with whipped cream!" mood that came earlier today. Cheers everyone and happy spring!

{personal} new toys

the new trampoline, originally uploaded by briemarie.

Over the Easter weekend, Cheyanne got a trampoline, and has a blast jumping on it. I'm sure that she would be out there the entire day if we would let her, although with this crazy weather we've been having lately, she's been stuck inside.

Speaking of the weather, it was so nice out on Saturday that we took the top off of the Jeep for the first time this year, and then of course it got super cold, but I hear it's supposed to warm up tomorrow, let's all keep our fingers crossed!

We also hit the doctor's office today, baby is doing fine and coming along splendidly, that's what everyone wants to hear, right? Heartbeat was in the 140's, my mom is thinking boy, while Rob's mom says girl, we will see which one is right once we have the baby, they each have a fifty/fifty chance so who knows. We've been working on getting the nursery cleaned out, since it used to be our office and so far the switch is going slowly for now.

On a non-personal note, we met with two brides last night for their weddings in 2010 and next year is filling up for us, exciting news. We love to meet with our couples, talk with them about their wedding plans and show off our albums.

And, as if that wasn't exciting enough, we've got senior portraits coming up fast, too. Make sure to get yours scheduled in time!

{personal} a little Easter fun

My friend Karen dropped in with her two little darlings, and I will claim that Sylvie only cried until she recognized me, but truthfully it may have been my crazy hair that put her out! They came over to color eggs with me! Oh, how much fun! I do believe that coloring eggs is one of the most exciting parts of Easter, the colors, the choices, and the mess-oh the mess, but we had a blast! Thank goodness that the little color tablets are nontoxic, we're pretty sure miss Sylvie ate one since we can't find it, and I haven't dug anything up since then, but the colors were so bright! Seth, of course, wanted all his eggs to be green. We let the kids color on their eggs with the "magic" crayon, one of my favourite things. Oh, I can't wait to be able to do this with my own little monster!

Karen also brought over Be Mine, her bunny which was born on Valentine's Day. She is so soft and cuddly!

The smiling egg, one of my fav's, it's such a crooked smile!

Of course, we had to play outside since it was so gorgeous out!

Seriously, is that not the cutest bunny you have ever seen?! I know, now everyone will want one, but Karen only has two. Give me a call, I may be able to hook you up. ;)

I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter weekend!

{in love} heidi + nathan, baraboo, wis

As promised, here is Heidi and Nathan's full post from their engagement shoot!

What a day! Obviously the weather gods had it in for us, it rained almost all day. We met Heidi and Nathan at our house, since it looked like the rain was not going to let up for us. We started out in the studio, but traveled outside once we saw that the rain had stopped. We went down to Circus World and realized that Heidi and I are totally into those buildings! We rocked the circus, then headed over to Ochsner's Park for another setting. We had just gotten down to the river, when the blue sky once again turned grey and rain poured down. Of course, as the weather gods are wont to do, as soon as we hit the house, the sun came out behind the clouds and, I don't believe, it rained any more that night. Whoever was doing the rain dance, seriously had to stop.

Although we didn't have a very long dry window, we got some awesome shots of Heidi and Nathan, those two are up for anything, I love it! I can't wait for their wedding this fall, we are going to have a blast then, too!

Enjoy! And feel free to leave us some comments, we love to hear what you think!

{sneak peek} heidi + nathan's e-shoot, baraboo, wi

As I was going through the shots from the day, I came across this little gem. I love it! So, of course, had to put up a little sneak peek from the shoot, you can expect a full post this weekend! This shot totally reminds me of the song that had been playing in my head all day "Come a little bit closer" by Jay & the Americans, a big hit in 1964! We had such a blast with Heidi and Nathan, but for now, you'll have to wait for the weekend!

I know, such a tease.
