Gorgeous Weather

I went over to Jess's house today and took some shots of the girls. They were both in such a fun mood! The weather was just gorgeous, the sun was out and it was so nice and warm. Jem was riding her bike up and down the sidewalk, trying to race the wind it seemed, while Lana watched. Jess worked on gardening while I took some photos of the girls. What a fun day~spending a beautiful day out of doors in the perfect weather with two charming little girls!

Dancing Star

elle, originally uploaded by briemarie.

For Elle's fourth birthday, we attended her dance recital. It was so much fun, watching all those little tiny dancers up on the stage. At the end of the dance recital, all the kids got red roses, although Elle broke the head off of hers! She still wanted to keep holding it.

Baby DJ's first photoshoot!

I went to visit Beth on DJ's sixth day in the wide world with us, and asked to take some shots of baby DJ, Dorathy Jean. She is just so adorable! She was awake when I got there, and she has the most unruly head of dark hair, with a little cowlick in front that looks like a little mohawk, or a dark haird kewpie doll! I was a little nervous doing the shoot by myself, usually I bring an assistant, my sister Beth does awesome with babies, but DJ was so great. She didn't cry or fuss, well, not until we took some without her shirt.

So, here is a little preview of baby DJ:

April, already?

I can't believe it is April already!! Spring is finally on its way, and here I haven't any news posted since January?! I have to get in gear and post some of the stuff from this year. I just put up some shots from Mollie and Scott's engagement, such a cool couple, and they are both teachers, how cool is that? I've got some wedding shots that are finally perfect, so I'll have to pop some of those up, plus some shots of Miss Sylvie in her heirloom dress that can come up, and that's from this year.
I have to apologize for not being very up to date, but from now on, my goal is to blog at least three times a month! Let's see if I can stick to it.

Mollie & Scott's Engagement Shots

I just finished processing on Mollie and Scott's engagement shots this weekend. We went out last friday, March 28, and got some great shots of the two of them. We first hit Ochsner's Park and then downtown Baraboo. They were willing to try everything we threw at them. And, Mollie may be our first bride to trash her dress, not literally trash it, but we'd love to take a bride out after the wedding in her beautiful gown and just do some fashion shots. A good website to check out is: www.trashthedress.com, they have some of the most amazing ideas.
It was last minute that Mollie and Scott came to town, but we got some awesome shots. The weather was perfect, the sun was shining, a bit blinding, but it was great to feel the heat from it after the week of blah weather we had.

Here's the preview of their shots:

Into the New Year

Welcome to 2008! We've all had time to get into the swing of the new year, I hope that it is going great for everyone. The snow is still falling in huge drifts, so we may never get rid of all the cold, but it does look amazing.
Over the holidays we had an old friend choose us to shoot her wedding in August. Mollie and I went to high school together and she and her fiance, Scott, are getting married out at Devil's Lake. How exciting is that?!
I have so many ideas running through my mind of things that we can do out there. Plus, as soon as it warms up, we'll get to shoot their engagement pics, and get to know more about Scott. They are both teachers, too. Now, if only I can find a chalkboard for their engagement shoot, that would be awesome.
Happy New Year everyone!!

Winter is here

It's been a while since my last post, I know that I should be on top of things here, but life just gets in the way. I'm short staffed at work, so I'm working more than usual. I really want to be working on our photo business, but my real job is all I get.

We have snow! Lots and lots of the white stuff. There's at least a foot of snow in our yard, and more is coming down as I type. Everything looks gorgeous and crystalline, it's like a fairytale world, although the roads are really slick, so driving is not fun at all. Although, it's the kind of snow that's pretty to look at, you can't build snowmen because it's really fine and light, no substance to it at all.

My mom had us over this weekend to bake cookies. I love cookies, any sweet really!
We've got another booking for next year. One of my friends from high school is getting married in August at Devil's Lake and we are going to be doing her photography. I am so excited! I can't wait, her fiance is great, too, so I know that the shots are going to be amazing. I have so many ideas floating around in my head.
