{sneak peek} baby feet

So, I can not post a full shot of this adorable little session. It's going to be a surprise Father's Day present for a lucky Papa. Isn't that exciting?! Can you imagine going to steal a flag, don't worry I'll give it right back, to get some awesome shots of a little miss in her daddy's handmade Air Force uniform from way back when? Hee hee hee. I'm still a little giddy just thinking about it, but it was so perfect out today, I just had to go out and shoot. Of course, it would have helped if my model was just a tiny bit happier about being outside in the sun, but she wasn't too sure of the grass.

This is just a little taste of the full shoot. Don't you just love baby toes?! I know I do, Jamie loves it when I try to nibble on them. Although, she has got some big feet. I just tell her we have to buy big shoes, poor kid. None, absolutely none!, of the baby shoes I bought at garage sales last year ever fit her. Anyways, enough about me and my baby foot fetish. ;)

Have an amazing day!

{personal} here comes Spring

I think that Winter has lasted long enough. I am ready for the weather to start warming, the snow to melt and the grass to grow so we can get outside! I feel like I've been cooped up all winter, I can not wait to get Jamie out in the stroller and walking around. I have tons of plans for this summer. Jamie loves to look out the window, so I just know that she is going to love being in the stroller and seeing everything around us. We've gone on short little walks, it being so cold, but nothing too long.
She loves her Jeep stroller, it's the best.

This week has been a struggle. I had a sudden work switch around and ended up working during the week, I know what you're thinking, but I actually work weekends so Jamie doesn't get stuck with some crazy babysitter. No offense baby sitters - my mom was one, that's how I know. ;) We want to keep her with family, I know it's a little crazy and Rob claims that I am paranoid. He's probably right. Anyways, back on track: so, I had to work, which meant that on Thursday, when we were expecting a new package, someone had to be home to sign for it. Well, it finally arrived, but not before I made Rob walk up the street and back down in the thick white fog that had been laying on the ground for the past two days.

He's the best, please tell him I said so, I don't think he believes me.

Our package arrived and Rob is ecstatic! He, of course had to be just like me, and order Nikon's D700. I love mine, I named him Boris. Now, we need to name Rob's new addition. We took both cameras, Jamie and Jeep stroller out to the zoo today for a little test drive. Rob is even more in love now (I don't let him play with Boris very often) with his new camera. I can't blame him, the pics are luscious and gorgeous. Now if only I can talk him into the new 24mm...

Let's hope the fog means that winter is giving way to spring!

{personal} what fills my day

All right, my blogging has been pretty non existent for the past month. I have so much that I want to share with all of you, and yet, it seems like I never have enough time in the day to get everything done. I know that I am not the most organized of people, ask Rob, he'll tell you. But there is a method to my madness. Try sitting in on one of my dreams sometime, I have the craziest dreams. I've heard that people don't dream in color, not true, I have the most vivid dreams, plus I can read. What does that mean, I suppose? It's on of my weirdities. Oh yeah, totally made up word at that. Wink, wink.

We have so many plans and ideas that we have for this coming year. Our days have been filled, not only with work, photography and baby, but with all the outrageous thoughts racing through our heads. We have our Senior Reps for Baraboo already, headshots are done and we are already talking to more students about having their senior pictures taken this summer. I can not believe that my baby sister will be a senior this year. Have I gotten that old?! I suppose it's true, time flies.

As I look back at the last seven months, I am amazed. Jamie is sitting up by herself, eating solid foods on a regular basis (so far the favourite is bananas), she tries to "swim" while on her tummy on a blanket and pretty soon she will be crawling all around. We had an awesome time at the Once Upon a Time bridal fair in the Dells and booked two amazing couples that day. We started offering metal prints, yes they are metal and you just have to clean them with windex, how sweet is that?! I bought a new car, with Jamie in mind, I'll miss my Jeep, but hey, priorities change.

I wanted to leave you all with some shots of what, or shall I say who, has been keeping me so busy the last couple of months. She does sleep through the night, thank goodness, but by the time she's in bed, we are, too. She just wears us out! We are so blessed to have such a beautiful and healthy baby girl, I can only wish that everyone else is just as lucky in their own endeavors.

She has the best expressions, and she talks now. Nothing understandable of course, but she talks gibberish and we talk back to her. She loves it. She gives kisses now, and as soon as she learns to close her mouth during these kisses, I believe that we will get less slobbery, but we wouldn't trade a kiss for the world.

I never imagined my life would turn out this way. I am amazed. As if this wasn't enough, we have the best start to our wedding season this year. Two of my old high school friends are getting married in the next month and a half. Our shortest wedding will be later this month, and our longest will be next month. I promise to have an amazingly awesome time at both and hopefully, cross my fingers, get some shots up in a timely manner. ;) I am so psyched! I can't really contain my excitement, and Rob was so jealous of Boris, that he had to order his own just in time for our first weddings. Woohoo.

I hope you all are having a blast. As always, I love to hear from you, so feel free to leave me a comment or two. And yes, I know, she has little bat wing ears, they are gorgeous.

{happy halloween} jamie's first!

Happy Halloween!!! This is my favourite time of year. I love the smell of fall, yes there really is one, the colors as they change, the way that families come together, I love it all. Halloween is my favourite holiday. It's the one day of the year when you can be anything you want. Usually, I would dress up with Rob, but this year I just didn't have the time. We did, however, dress up our little sugar plum, she's a pink Jaguar, isn't she the cutest baby in the world?

Okay, maybe I'm biased on that account, but I love seeing all the costumes, the best ones are always homemade and once Jamie gets bigger, I want to be able to help her create the most outrageous and unique costumes. I'm hoping that she loves Halloween as much as her daddy and I do.

I hope everyone has a safe Halloween, don't eat all your candy in one sitting, and know that I still have so much more to talk about, like the luscious metal prints that showed up on Thursday.

Enjoy my little Jaguar:

{shot for today} rebel

Photographers that do pets must have a lot of patience. I can never get them to do what I want, take Rebel for example. He belongs to Rob's parents and is a huge moose of a dog, and he loves people, but he doesn't stop moving! I'm lucky he stopped for this shot.

{personal} mail call

Rob and I came home after work today to find a package waiting for me in the mailbox. I love to get the mail, ever since I've been a kid I have loved to open up the mailbox and see what kind of treasures were to be found within. Today, I found my novel waiting to be paged through for the very first time. Oh, the excitement.

For the last two years, I have participated in NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month during November. The goal is to write a 50,000 word manuscript in 30 days. So far, I have succeeded both times. Last year, the winners were able to make a proof book for free, so I took advantage of the sweet deal and my proof copy came in the mail today. It's so exciting to see your name in print, isn't it always? I couldn't stop grinning, now I'll have to let people read it, that's more nerve wracking than anything else.

So now, I have my very own novel, in print, proof though it may be. I just had to share.

{personal} a little Easter fun

My friend Karen dropped in with her two little darlings, and I will claim that Sylvie only cried until she recognized me, but truthfully it may have been my crazy hair that put her out! They came over to color eggs with me! Oh, how much fun! I do believe that coloring eggs is one of the most exciting parts of Easter, the colors, the choices, and the mess-oh the mess, but we had a blast! Thank goodness that the little color tablets are nontoxic, we're pretty sure miss Sylvie ate one since we can't find it, and I haven't dug anything up since then, but the colors were so bright! Seth, of course, wanted all his eggs to be green. We let the kids color on their eggs with the "magic" crayon, one of my favourite things. Oh, I can't wait to be able to do this with my own little monster!

Karen also brought over Be Mine, her bunny which was born on Valentine's Day. She is so soft and cuddly!

The smiling egg, one of my fav's, it's such a crooked smile!

Of course, we had to play outside since it was so gorgeous out!

Seriously, is that not the cutest bunny you have ever seen?! I know, now everyone will want one, but Karen only has two. Give me a call, I may be able to hook you up. ;)

I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter weekend!

{personal} a day at the lake

It was so gorgeous out today that Rob and I met his parents and Cheyanne to walk around the lake. I'll admit it was a bit colder at the lake, it's always colder at the lake, right? Anyways, Cheyanne loves to be outside, so we all troop down to the beach where she continuously throws sand into the water, which has a sheet of ice still floating on half of it. I was feeling like flare today, if you couldn't tell, and thought I'd share a bit of our adventure. While Rob will understand why I'm laying on the ground with Hector in my hands, I still need to explain to Cheyanne that I'm just taking a picture. I'll do almost anything to get the shot, except actually jump in the water, haha.

{updates} on life

I know I've been slacking!! I'm sorry, but I have been working on some major reconstruction this week. Rob put in a new window in our kitchen, which looks totally awesome, we each had vacation this week and did a ton of stuff around the house, and I know I have a ton of stuff to blog about, we had an engagement shoot almost two weeks ago now, Jackie and David's wedding from last week, and this coming week we've got a couple of shoots lined up, plus I have got several albums that I need to get hopping on. So, here's a little treat for you, and if you haven't hit the apple orchard yet this year, I would highly recommend it, they have the best caramel apples.

So, along with all the stuff we've been working on at home, I've been getting our new website all spiffed up, take a look (let me know what you think, it's still in the early stages!): www.realphotographyrealpeople.com, and please, let me know if anything's weird on there! I can see the website in my sleep, hahaha.

And by the way, we still have a bunch of openings up yet this year, so if you are thinking of getting those family portraits done in time for Christmas and the holidays, please give us a call, we'd love to help capture your memories!!

{personal} puppy love

This is Cocoa, Cheyanne's new puppy. They have had her for two whole days and dropped by our house this morning so we could fall in love, too. She is so soft and such a bundle of energy, although the puppy and Cheyanne haven't been able to tire each other out, yet. They ran all around the yard, little girl screaming while being chased by clumsy pup, it was hilarious!! You can tell how much she loves her new puppy. What a cutie! Yeah, the puppy and the niece, she's such a little model for me.
