September already!

Just last saturday, we shot Tim and Miranda's wedding. It was such a blast! They got married at St. Joe's, which is an awesome church, huge cathedral ceilings, great light coming in and a balcony to view the ceremony.

After the wedding, we hit lower Ochsner's park for some bridge shots and then went bar hopping with the couple, who got to ride in a convertible yellow Stang through town.

Rob and I have just moved from Rock Springs to Baraboo! We bought a house up on Ash street and am finally done moving all our stuff into the new house, now we just need to unpack, finish the wood floor and get all our wedding shots processed (not in that order!). We've got a busy couple of weeks ahead of us with finishing up Tim and Miranda's wedding shots, along with shooting for Kim and Nehemiah next saturday!

Cheers!

News for July!

Rob and I have been looking at houses, for those of you that didn't know. It's high time we got a place of our own. We are so excited because we just found out today that our offer was accepted and hopefully, we will be moving to Baraboo very soon. It'll be a lot closer to the venues we shoot at regularly, and a little easier to find for our prospective clients. (and we can decorate to our hearts content and have a great looking place to show-off our work instead of the house we are currently in.)
We've got two weddings coming up in the next month and a half and are sure that the next couple of months will be crazy. We love it!

We also got our first booking for next year. Jackie and David will be getting married on October 4, 2008 and we are so excited for them.

Time Slips By

Oh my goodness. I can't believe how far into June we are already! And here I haven't posted any shots of our wedding from May 26th. Still no shots this time, but Bruce and Rebekah were such a rockin' couple. The whole day was a blast. They were so funny and, I am sure, that everyone at the wedding left feeling better than when they got there.
The ceremony was at Walnut Hill, I found parts of that church I had never seen before, and they have an awesome patio for shots, only if it doesn't sprinkle on you! The reception was held at the Baraboo Arts Banquet Hall, which has great lighting.
Bruce and Rebekah also had a live band! They rocked the whole night. It was an amazing wedding, and I truly can't wait to post some images here.

The Big Event: Stacy & Adam

This is just a couple shots from our last wedding, which was May 5. Stacy and Adam were great. They got married at the Country Bluff Wedding Chapel, an old country church, which had awesome lighting and a balcony that I used to get some awesome shots of the ceremony. Rob stayed downstairs and got the shots from below. It was a very intimate ceremony.

Their reception was held at the Baraboo Arts Banquet Hall, we've been to a few receptions there and it's great to see how everyone sets it up differently.

While they didn't have a ton of people, the guests that were there were all great. Everyone looked like they were having a wonderful time. The couple were so funny, as you can tell by their cake topper! It was such a blast.

Stacy came and picked up their album a couple days ago, and loved them. It was so hard for us to pick out the ones for the album, we took so many shots, but it was great to see her face as she finally got to flip through the events of her day.

Seth & Sylvie

I went up to Oshkosh today to take pictures of Seth and Sylvie. Sylvie will be two weeks old tomorrow and I wanted to get in some newborn shots before she starts to really grow into herself.
Today was my first newborn shoot, but it was for my best friend and her husband, so I didn't feel too pressured. I know that I took some great shots of everyone. I'd love to get some more babies to practice on, although I'll take more pics of Seth and Sylvie every couple of months so I don't miss any of the growing stages.
I know that when I have kids, I will be taking so many pictures of them that everyone will get sick of my camera. Ahhh, the love of a parent. Unconditional love for your child, I know that I captured this emotion in some of my shots and am so happy to see that in them.

Welcom Miss Sylvie!

My best friend, Karen, called me around one o'clock today to tell me the good news. Sylvie Adora was born this morning, 8:26 I believe, I know that she told me the time, but I've been a little absentminded today.

I can't believe how tiny she is. She is so gorgeous. I'm itching and ready to take newborn shots of little Sylvie. She cried for about the first half hour that we were there, and then Karen handed her off to Bethany, my sister, and Sylvie quieted right down, Beth has always had that affect on babies. As soon as I held the little one, her face screwed up and she started practicing with her little lungs.

I have got a ton of ideas running through my head about newborn shots and can't wait to practice them on Sylvie and her big brother Seth, who so far is not that impressed by his wee little sister. I'm sure that he just needs some time to get used to the new bundle of joy.

Sawyer in the cool afternoon

I went out and took some shots of Sawyer today. We shot later in the afternoon so the sun wouldn't be so bright, it was the perfect cloudy day for shooting. The temperature was a little colder than I would have liked and we took Sawyer's jacket off for the shoot, and his little nose turned bright pink. It was so cold that it started to flurry. I thought we were supposed to be done with winter and snow.

We started out with a bale of hay and cowboy hat, both of which got discarded.

I took some shots next to their shed, gave some great textures for a background and we got some awesome expressions from Sawyer when everyone started talking to him and asking him what kind of noise a monster makes, he is so adorable, and then we moved on to the tire swing and his John Deere four wheeler.
It was such a great shoot! I took a ton of shots, but that's normal for me. I love to shoot, it's so great when you go out and take shots for someone and you know that one of those shots will be going up on a wall or on a mantle, it's such a great feeling.
