{wedding} aaron + kristin 9.20.2008

All right, it's been over a week and I haven't posted more than a tiny blip about my weddings from last week! I'd like to say that this past week has been super busy and that's my reason for the slackage, but I promise to pick it up from here on out.

Last saturday we had a super gorgeous wedding. I knew it would be a blast when I walked in on the girls getting ready and Kristin was just in her underclothes, looking gorgeous already I might add, and trying to decide on wearing the dress or just walking out like that. I suggested the veil to go along with her ensemble, but her dress was super fab (she bought it online!) and she decided to wear it. I knew that this wedding was going to be awesome when I saw that Amber Moon from Baraboo had done the flowers. I love how bright and colorful they are!

The wedding was at Saint Joe's in Baraboo, a huge cathedral of a building and it has so many places to get great images at. While Rob was capturing the bride before the ceremony, I went out to keep Aaron company, and we tried to figure out how many tires it takes to fill up their play area (if anyone knows, please let me know - the groomsmen were trying to figure it out all day!!). The ceremony was beautiful and then we had some time to kill before the reception, I love it when the bride and groom plan for extra time between things, it gives us time to really get some fun shots! The weather was perfect, blue sky with puffy little clouds and a little breeze, what more could you ask for on your wedding day?

They had a limo pick them up from the church, and headed downtown Baraboo for some partying, and then up to the Dells and finally to Trapper's Turn, a gorgeous golf course on the edge of the Dells with a fantastic reception area. The meal was amazing, let me tell you that our couples are always willing to let us eat with them and after this wedding it may be the reason that Rob shoots weddings now! There was Italian wedding soup, gorgeous salad (almost a crime to eat it, it was so pretty!) and the main course was bacon wrapped fillet mignon, the steak was so tender we could cut it with a butter knife! It's possible that was the best meal I have ever had dining out. Plus, the reason I shoot weddings, the wedding cake was gorgeous, more of the beautiful flowers and they had some great flavours like carrot cake, oh how amazing does all that sound?

Now, as if that wasn't all amazing, they had a band come in and play, Easy Street, and although we blew a circuit or breaker (have I ever mentioned that I'm not really that great with electronic stuff?) the party continued soon after and the reception was rocking. Check out the shot of Kristin's dad, he's an awesome dancer!

So, here are some teasers and a few of our favourites from the day:
Look at Aaron holding those flowers! He looks great in the bright colours.

Before the ceremony, Aaron kept checking the time as we were waiting for the bridal portraits to finish up.

Seriously, what a cool cake!

Oh yeah, he lifted her straight off the floor!

I think this may be one of my favourites of the day! Kristin totally rocked her dress and she looked like a princess.

While we were partying before the reception, Aaron was teasing the flowergirl, at least I'm sure that's what was happening ;) and she was hissing back at him like a cat. How sweet is this shot?

Look at how in love these two are! I love their expressions and how loving they were. It was little moments like this that really remind me of why I shoot weddings, I love to document the love that they feel for each other.

{samples} swatch tins

So, we got in part of our sample order yesterday. I had been checking my email all week, and noticed that they were to arrive yesterday, I was so excited. I got home, saw the box sitting on the front porch, cleaned up the toilet paper that the kids had decorated our house with the night before (it's homecoming, you know! although why our house got hit I have got no idea, anyways back to my story), I take the box inside, clean off the coffee table so there is someplace clean to place the albums, go wash my hands, and then wait. Wait for Rob to get home so I don't open the albums without him. He gets home and I open the box, and lo and behold, it's not the sample albums, but the swatch tins we ordered along with them!!

I've got another email saying that the albums (crossing my fingers) will be here next week. So, I was a little sad that it was just the swatches until I took a look at them. They are so luscious and gorgeous and so much more elegant in person that now I have tons of colour combinations running through my head of all the albums that I want to order next! Now, I'm really really really excited to get our samples in, the swatches were so soft and delicious, they have completely environmentally friendly swatches along with leathers so we've got everyone covered. I can't wait to begin our new year with these albums. If you'd like to checkout our new line go to www.finaoonline.com, they are just gorgeous and so many options!

{catch up} weekend of weddings

This past weekend we had two very different weddings.

Jeff and Joleen got married in her parents backyard, overlooking the lake in their bare feet, while Kristin and Aaron got married at Saint Joe's church, a huge cathedral with tons of light and architectural intricacies.

Both weddings though, were so beautiful and full of fun and life. I had such a great time at both of them and will get some teasers up just as soon as I can. I love that every wedding is different but they are all filled with love, laughter and family, what more could you ask for?

Well, it's been a crazy busy week. After sunday's engagement shoot, we got together with a bride and her groom on wednesday to finalize their wedding plans for next friday. This upcoming week is going to be busy busy busy. We, well I, have a wedding on friday night for the cutest couple, it's a second marriage for both of them and I have some great ideas running through my head, and then on saturday Rob and I will be shooting Kristin and Aaron's wedding, you just saw their engagement shots, aren't they adorable, too! We get the coolest couples.

We have some sample albums in the works right now. I am so excited to be offering our new albums, they have so many different cover styles to choose from that I am stoked to get them in, the waiting is what will kill me, I'm sure. As soon as I get them in my little hands I'll post a shot. Plus, we are getting ready for one of the bridal fairs in January, so we are stocking up on samples of our works and some new things we are planning on offering for 2009.

{in love} Kristin + Aaron

We did Kristin and Aaron's engagement shoot on Sunday! They are such a cute couple, can you believe Aaron drives all the way down to Iowa for work? I wouldn't be able to do that, so we did some quick shots around downtown since Aaron was leaving after the shoot. I know I asked them to do some crazy things like play peek a boo with the lamp post between them, we had a blast, well at least I had a blast!! I love Kristin's smile, isn't she gorgeous? and Aaron, too, we can't forget about him, they were a blast to shoot, so laid back, I wish all our shoots were like this!! So here's a preview of our day:

{personal} puppy love

This is Cocoa, Cheyanne's new puppy. They have had her for two whole days and dropped by our house this morning so we could fall in love, too. She is so soft and such a bundle of energy, although the puppy and Cheyanne haven't been able to tire each other out, yet. They ran all around the yard, little girl screaming while being chased by clumsy pup, it was hilarious!! You can tell how much she loves her new puppy. What a cutie! Yeah, the puppy and the niece, she's such a little model for me.

{fearless bridal} amanda @ devil's lake

I have been wanting to do a fearless bridal shoot for some time now, but it's very hard to convince a bride to put her dress back on and do some of the crazy things we suggest. Well, we found a willing model in Rob's little sister, Amanda. We picked up the dress at Vinny's for super cheap and told her to meet us at seven a.m., perfect lighting that morning I might add, it was like buttery goodness raining down on us, so we drove up to a little meadow and told Amanda to start trecking out. She wore her cowboy boots and brought a couple of hats, we grabbed a few more props and starting shooting.

We had the most perfect light that morning. It was gorgeous and our model, we couldn't ask for more. After the meadow, we drove out to Devil's Lake, and started down North Shore, stopping at the beach for a few shots and then followed the trail to rock 9 where Amanda jumped into the water! Can you believe it?! I know, I know this is just a teaser and I don't have any of those shots, yet, but they will be coming shortly, I just wanted to get these up while I had a spare moment.

Enjoy the teaser's of Amanda's faux fearless bridal.

If there are any brides that want to participate in a fearless bridal session, please let us know! We'd love to take you out!!
